This class is a great way to enter the world of glass art.  You will learn the basics of  glass cutting, creative two-dimensional design, fusing (combining colors) and slumping (shaping glass into or over molds to create flat and dimensional forms). Firing schedules and annealing will be discussed, and each week students will have the opportunity to create a new piece.   Tuition: $225 including materials.

FUSED GLASS JEWELRY and PRECIOUS METAL CLAY

You can make beautiful real silver jewelry using Precious Metal Clay... Learn how to cut and assemble glass pieces for use in jewelry, and how to make unique glass cabachons for use with Precious Metal Clay.  PMC is real fine silver (99.9% pure) in a soft clay base which can be formed into almost any shape you wish. After it's fired in the kiln, the clay has burnt off and you're left with a beautiful silver and glass piece of jewelry!

Class size limited to 5 students. Tuition: $200 including glass and tools.  PMC is additional.

STAINED GLASS

Explore the timeless art of stained glass in this beginning level course. Learn how to create effective designs, cut glass to fit your designs, and assemble the glass for beauty and stability using the copper foil technique.  Those with some experience are encouraged to attend.  Projects can be tailored to skill level.  Each student will create a 10” x 12” panel, framed and ready to hang. Class size limited to 7 students.

Tuition: $275 including materials.

DICHROIC GLASS JEWELRY

Learn how to create unique glass jewelry using metallic dichroic glass. Pieces made can include pendants, earrings, bracelets, buttons and fused beads.  Glass cutting and fusing techniques are taught along with use of saws and grinders specific to jewelry applications.  Silver and copper inclusions will be practiced.  This class is perfect for the beginning fusing student or for those with fusing experience who wish to focus on jewelry making.

Tuition: $215 including materials.

SUMMER STUDIO CAMP:

Kids age 7 - 14 create unique glass art while learning the techniques of fusing and slumping, sandblasting, mosaic, and bead making.  Each weekly session is packed with creative glass projects, lessons in art and design, and fun!  Campers learn to cut glass and assemble it using various techniques to create desired effects.  Visits to glass blowing and stained glass studios enhance appreciation for glass arts.  Have fun exploring glass art!

Class size is limited to ten to ensure adequate attention to each student.

Two sessions offered:  June 21 - 25 & July 26 - 30

Monday - Friday, 10:30 am - 2:00 pm
